Intro/Outro00:02 - 00:17

Welcome to Fix Your Gym, a podcast about keeping your gear in shape. On this show, we have conversations with gym equipment gurus as we share stories on how they serve the fitness industry and community. And now, here's your host, Adam Niffen.

Adam Niffen00:21 - 10:47

All right. Welcome everybody to fix your gym podcast. Episode one. I am your host, Adam Niffen. I'm really excited to be launching the show. I think it's going to be very valuable, not just to the listeners, but for me, even in particular, um, as we get into, you know, in-depth conversations from, from industry leaders, entrepreneurs, executives. Um, and different people in the fitness industry that can bring us valuable knowledge and insights and how to improve our business, how to improve our careers, how to improve our lives in general, our mindset, things like that. So that's really going to be kind of the, the, the core objective of the show is, is inspiration and knowledge. And the people that we're going to be interviewing are going to be. Experts in the industry in some way, shape or form, whether it could be salespeople, different entrepreneurs, maybe even like companies, people who own companies that, you know, sell equipment or manufacture equipment, or executives from those companies in some way, shape or form, or maybe even, you know, different innovative businesses that are involved in, you know, building and designing different, you know, fitness Um, spaces, um, you know, there's a lot of different new technologies coming out in the industry and different manufacturers are doing different things from, you know, the innovation and like connected fitness programs and things like that. So we'll be, you know, bringing, bringing. um, knowledge and insights on, on those types of trends that, that we're starting to see in the industry, bringing on people that may talk about, you know, new products that are, are going to be coming to market, um, or existing products that, uh, will, will go into in-depth, you know, discussions on those, those, those certain products and, um, and things like that. So I'm really excited about it because I'm also in the fitness industry. Um, I own a company called stride fitness solutions and we, uh, we have a, service and installation teams throughout the Midwest. We have a few different locations. I've been in the industry, like I said, for 12 years and, you know, my passion really is in entrepreneurship and personal development. And so our business in particular is, you know, involved in developing our employees and bringing and building a company culture that that really fosters growth in the individual employee, you know, or individuals themselves. And so that's kind of where my passion is. is in that personal development space. And then, of course, in entrepreneurship and health and fitness in general. A little bit about me, this is the only episode I really get to talk about me, so I'll go into a little bit of details, but it's really going to be about others and what kind of knowledge and insights they can bring to us. But I'm passionate about a lot of different areas in the fitness industry, but in particular, long distance running. So I don't say I'm a marathon runner because I haven't completed a marathon yet, but I've done a couple of half marathons and got really involved in the last few years and training for these long distance runs and developing the mental toughness and the physical toughness that you need to accomplish these things. And it's really more about setting goals that I never thought in my life that I would be a, you know, a long distance runner. I hated running and, and I really was, was out of shape for a lot of years in my life and didn't work out at all. Um, but I got really interested in that and, and kind of the limits of, of that I had on myself and then like pushing those limits and transforming myself and doing things that I didn't know that was not only possible for me, but certain things that I just didn't even see as possible for people to do at all. And so like, so getting into these types of things and the mental toughness arena has been really, really interesting to me. And so I intend on bringing on people in that area as well, not just entrepreneurs, but but people who are athletes and fitness experts in a lot of different ways. So I'm really excited to learn from these types of people and have these conversations myself as well. But, uh, also it's important to mention, you know, kind of the root of why I'm doing all the things that I'm doing, which, you know, my partner and I, my life partner and I, we have a, uh, eight month old baby daughter. And, um, you know, so like developing health inside of the family and, and the type of lifestyle it takes to be, you know, a good dad and have a healthy family, um, really is kind of what, what sparked this whole idea. Um, it. and not just in my business, but the podcast and the different things that I do in life. The family really is kind of the root purpose or drive behind all of this and everything like that. My business and my career and different things like that, really, if I don't have the healthy home life and family, I don't have any of those things. So that's kind of like the root of my drive as a person. And so really, we just set ourselves on the path to become the best versions of ourselves. And how do we do that? And I think starting this podcast will help me do that. And bringing on and meeting different people and connecting with different people in the industry. and really studying because starting this podcast has already got me to the point where I've got to study. I've got to learn about my guests. I've got to learn about different things in the industry, and I've got to practice what I preach and what I teach. talk about and things like that. So, you know, it's going to help improve me. It's going to help improve my ability to connect with others and things like that. And that's really kind of definitely, I wouldn't say the core objective, but definitely an objective of this podcast is self-improvement, you know, and not just for the listeners, but for myself, you know. The vision for Fix Your Gym as a podcast is really to just dive deep into the minds of the guests and into the lives and lifestyle of our guests and gain different valuable insights on things like mindset, even the latest and greatest innovations in technology in the industries, and really just have strategic discussions with people in the industry, leaders, executives, enthusiasts, all kinds of different people to provide information and knowledge that will inspire and transform people's lives or have some type of impact, whether it's small or large in your life. And so we'll get into some deep exploration of different topics in the industry and hopefully provide value to the people who listen and the people who, not just the listeners, but the people, even the guests and myself. So provide as much valuable knowledge as we can to improve to improve ourselves in any way that we can. So that's kind of the goal, is transformation, mindset, development of self, development. And I, myself, I've had a lot of, you know, success or changes in my life came from just conversations with people, or listening to podcasts myself. Podcasts have really transformed the way that I live my life and the way that my family lives their life. Instead of turning on the TV or turning on music a lot of times at the gym, we flip on a podcast and we improve ourselves. There's a certain level of of just improvement of frequency or improvement of vibration when you start getting knowledge rather than just turning on something that just, like I love music, but you can see in the background, I love music, it's been a big part of my life, but there's another level you get to when you just start taking in information and not invaluable information. And so, Yes. And that's kind of how I developed this idea for this podcast and, uh, just listening to others and like thinking like, wow, this, this is really an interesting thing and how much, how much this has changed my life. And then how can I take that and apply it to my business and have it be helpful for my business and connect and network with people in the industry. So I'm really excited to be able to, to, to bring different people on the show. That's going to, you know, change my life and other people's life, hopefully in some way. So that's really the goal and the rundown. I'm not going to go into a whole lot. Like I said, this show is not about me. It's about the guests and what we can bring you guys that will improve your your business and your life. So I hope you stay tuned for some episodes coming up. We have a few people lined up already that I think will be valuable for you guys. And if you're interested in being on the show, definitely get with me. I definitely want to hear from a lot of different types of people. So shoot me a message and get with me and we'll talk. But yeah, that's kind of the basic rundown of what we're going to be doing, what we're going to be getting into, a little bit about what I do. And yeah, I hope you guys tune in and enjoy the show. I hope it provides value to you in some way, shape, or form. And yeah, so thanks for listening. We'll talk to you next time.
